The Second Chances program is designed to provide comprehensive, supportive services that lead to stability for men and women released from incarceration. A diverse range of services is offered that include the following: Case Management; Life Skills Training and Workshops; Jobs Skills Training and Placement; Housing, Transportation, Substance Abuse Treatment, Relapse Prevention, Family Engagement Services.
F.E.E.T. is a four-week financial empowerment program designed to provide financial training to individuals/families, including those who are burdened with debt, financially literate, or unemployed. The skills provided via the training will ultimately improve the overall financial health, education, and welfare of the participants.
These programs include Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT), KIP Care (Kids of Incarcerated Parents), I-Thrive Mentoring, and our parenting services that provide support to correctional facilities. These programs work to provide case management and wrap-around support to underserved families and caregivers while lessening the impacts of incarceration and socioeconomic poverty on families and neighborhoods. With focuses on education, social engagement, leadership, and community service, Youth & Family Services supports all other Garden of Hope programs with a space for family growth and development.
The Garden of Hope provides basic literacy tutoring and G.E.D. preparation classes to the community for free. Morning and evening classes are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm.
The Garden of Hope provides permanent supportive housing to unhoused participants of the Second Chances program. Harbor House for Men & Stanhope House for Women include case management, individual success plans and other supportive services that lead to independent living. Residents must adhere to policies including maintaining employment, sobriety and attending regular supportive meetings and groups with other house residents and Second Chances participants.
